Self-Control in Times of Anger
Reports show that anger often leads to violence—34% of murders start with arguments, 56% of fatal road accidents involve aggression, and over 1.3 million deaths annually result from violence. Islam teaches that true strength is self-control, as the Prophet ﷺ said: “Strength is in controlling yourself when angry.” He advised repeatedly, “Do not get angry.” A Muslim’s faith is tied to ensuring others are safe from his tongue and hand. Suppressing anger brings immense reward in the Hereafter. The Prophet ﷺ, known for perfecting good character, never retaliated for personal reasons but only when Allah’s limits were violated.
