Some people think forgiveness is weakness. But for Muhammad ﷺ, forgiveness was the greatest strength. When his people insulted him, he did not retaliate. When his hometown expelled him, he returned to them with peace. He said: “Go, for you are free.” Allah says: “Repel evil with what is better; then the one between whom and you there was enmity will become as though he were a devoted friend.” — [Qur’an 41:34] In an age filled with wars, Muhammad ﷺ came with a message of peace: “A Muslim is the one from whose tongue and hand people are safe.” He wrote treaties with non-Muslims to protect their lives, wealth, and places of worship. Allah says: “And if any of the polytheists seeks your protection, then grant him protection so that he may hear the words of Allah.” — [Qur’an 9:6] Reflect… A man with power chose to live humbly, saying: “O Allah, let me live as one of the poor, and let me die as one of the poor.” Isn’t that the truest proof of his sincerity?
